Almost a year

I have been working at this school for almost a year. I got much happiness also a little sadness because of something happened here. As usual wherever you there, life is a challenge. I had learnt many lessons how to struggle, fight, to be solid, to teach, etc from my seniors, this school environment, also from the students. I meet so many people’s characteristics. Some can be my best, and any only can be my good friends. You know, as a human, we need some friends as partners in sharing or even doing some fool things. And I got some. yaaaeh.

I teach for 7th grade. Now I am one of jobholders here. As a permanent employee, I have to teach at least 24 hours per week. On the other hand, in 7th grade I was given 10 hour in a week, so that I have to teach 14 more hours.

To fill the work hour standard, The Foundation commanded me to teach in basic school. Honesty, it was very difficult for me. It was one of serious life challenges that I have ever found, because it was about treating the children… oh the children… they were so cute, innocent, and could do everything without guile. How could me? I was so doubt that I could do the same (like in SMP or SMA) in basic school… And it was happened.

The most difficult part of teaching students in 1st grade is how to get their attentions. Students at that grade are so active and have kinesthetic learn style. I am one of teachers in this world (it sounds lebay) who always design a lesson plan as a student activities plan, not teacher activities as a dominant, also minimize the teacher talk time.

I needed much time to learn how to make a lesson plan like that for student in 1st grade. I had no experience, even any knowledge how to treat and teach student in 1st grade. So, as a new comer in basic school, I tried to not be hesitate to ask or discus everything regarding to the students.

I hope this life phase will be passed as soon as possible (17th June 2015). So then, whatever the decision is I will receive pleasantly where you will put my teaching time.
